TEDDY TREKKERS
Teddy Trekkers are knitted teddy bears that come to life thanks to a very diligent and charitable group of ladies in Australia. Since we have been involved, CMIRC has given Trekker Teddies to children in Chiang Mai, namely at the BMCF B.K. Kee House and beyond. They have also been distributed by Mae Tao Clinic and the Burma Children Medical Fund in both Thailand and Myanmar.
While these dolls were originally intended for young children, occasionally we came across an older child watching the young ones with a sad expression on their face. Sometimes they have never or seldom had a toy of their own and are delighted to receive one. All the donated Teddies are individually packed into special bags decorated by the patients at the B.K. Kee House. This gives them such excitement and joy - a wonderful opportunity to show off their artistic skills. This appeal has been truly inspiring for all involved, from the patients, the medical team, caregivers, and volunteers.
