THAI DANCING: LAMPS & NAILS

Khru Jidapa and her students gave a demonstration of Thai dancing

Lamp Dance

This is a dance to worship the Lord Buddha, which is an ancient belief. At present, it has been revived to continue the tradition, usually at night. The lights in the Phang Pradeep are beautifully illuminated.

Nail Dance

This is a Chiang Mai dance that has been around for hundreds of years. At first, it was a dance for the Kua Tan procession, the Poi Luang festival, and the Sena Sana offering festival. Later, to continue the tradition, there were dances performed at various events.
