In December, CMIRC members dedicated three visits to the BCMF B.K. Kee Patient House. The first visit involved Christmas art projects, an engaging round of Bingo, and the distribution of gifts to patients set to return home before the Christmas party.
The highlight of the month was undoubtedly the festive Christmas Party held on December 17, graced by the presence of Rotarians John Schorr, Gordana Nardini, Raphael Djemal, Yao Rattanasopa, Patrick Deslodge, Myrna Muyana, and Bill Pierce. This year was particularly special as we were able to fully participate. The celebration commenced with a presentation by CMIRC Past President John, who presented a laptop to long-time employee Klao, donated by Mazars Thailand to BCMF. Patients and caregivers then sang Christmas songs, accompanied by two skilled guitarists. The festive ambiance continued with everyone cheerfully participating in familiar Christmas carols.
The gift-giving segment followed, where CMIRC attendees took turns distributing presents to patients, caregivers, and staff. Even the house dog, "Gai," received thoughtful gifts she guarded with care during her little nap. Witnessing the smiles and joy on everyone's faces was a heartwarming experience.
A special mention goes to B.K. Kee employee Klao who did an outstanding job arranging the food for the party. Burmese-style cuisine from a local restaurant was chosen, and unanimously, everyone agreed that the food was "aroy mak mak" ("very delicious" in Thai).
Gary and I, as project champions, extend our heartfelt gratitude to all CMIRC members and friends for their financial contributions to cover the party's costs and for providing gifts. The success of this event was a team effort, and we appreciate everyone's support in making it a memorable occasion.
