Rotary Peacebuilder Clubs

Peacebuilder Clubs are a Rotarian movement creating energy and momentum for peaceful conflict resolution around the world.  In 2018, the Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP) leadership team decided to champion this program in Rotary Clubs worldwide as an essential call to action for Rotarian peacebuilders.  To become a Peacebuilder club, a club must:

  • Form a Peace Committee (two or more members) involved in becoming educated on RI’s focus on Peacemaking and Peacebuilding and conducting education session(s) on Peacemaking.

  • Involve Youth (aka Youth Service)

  • PLUS choose at least two of the following

  • Integrate PEACE into a Club Service project and/or partner with groups outside of Rotary

  • Submit a prospective candidate for a Rotary Peace Fellowship

  • Participate in Peace projects with other clubs

  • Join the Rotary Action Group for Peace (strongly recommended however Joining RAGFP is not a requirement)

Rotary Peace Scholarships

Rotary has a proud tradition of enabling scholars to continue their higher education through Rotary peace Scholarships.  Rotary Peace Scholars are leaders promoting national and international cooperation, peace, and the successful resolution of conflict throughout their lives, in their careers, and through service activities.

Scholars can earn either a master’s degree in international relations, public administration, sustainable development, peace studies, conflict resolution, or a related field, or a professional development certificate in peace and conflict resolution.  Scholars are chosen from countries around the globe based on their ability to have a significant, positive impact on world peace and conflict resolution during their careers.

“If there is to be peace in the world,

There must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the nations,

There must be peace in the cities.

If there is to be peace in the cities,

There must be peace between neighbors.

If there is to be peace between neighbors,

There must be peace in the home.

If there is to be peace in the home,

There must be peace in the heart.”
