It’s been a busy few months at the Patient House. We’ve completed both interior and exterior painting of patient spaces and offices, as well as adding 100 meters of safety covers for concrete drains near the house. We continue to provide laundry soap and personal hygiene supplies. Our new staff member, Bee, and intern, Thiri, are teaching personal hygiene and health practices.
Equally important are our bi-weekly visits, which bring joy and entertainment to the residents. Recently, we reintroduced puzzles for all ages. One boy, deaf, blind, and unable to speak, completed a puzzle by touch with his mother's help, while a team of six adults tackled a 1,200-piece puzzle.
During our "B.K. Kee's Got Talent" visit, we enjoyed singing and dancing, including a beautiful performance of Lionel Richie’s "Stuck on You" in Karen language, with perfect two-part guitar harmony.
We’re now preparing for Christmas and buying gifts. Before that, we’ll have a bingo session, a puzzle session, and start a new art activity with Rotarian Andrew Boud and his wife, Colleen. I’m excited for the Christmas party on December 8 and would like to thank Andrew, Bill Pierce, Nick Dale and his wife, Pink, and visiting Rotarian Al Mink and his wife, Sue, from Virginia.
